Sharing Network Solutions Access
Give Neon Moth limited, revocable access to manage your domain's DNS settings through Network Solutions, without ever sharing your password.
Why we ask for this
Your domain's DNS settings control where your website lives, how your email gets delivered, and how services like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 confirm that you own your domain. When we launch a site, move it to new hosting, set up email, or fix a delivery problem, those settings usually need to change.
Network Solutions lets you add us as a user on your account with our own separate login. That means we can make DNS changes when they're needed without scheduling a call, waiting on two-factor codes, or asking for your password. You stay in full control of your account, and you can see exactly who has access to it.
Access levels
Network Solutions offers three user roles:
| What the role can do | Primary | Admin | Tech |
|---|---|---|---|
| Edit account holder and primary contact information | Yes | No | No |
| Edit payment information | Yes | Yes | No |
| Add, edit, or remove other users | Yes | Yes | No |
| Purchase new products | Yes | Yes | No |
| Manage domains, websites, and DNS settings | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Renew domains, websites, and hosting packages | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit your domain's registrant (owner) information | Yes | No | No |
| Edit your domain's admin and tech contact information | Yes | Yes | Yes |
We recommend the Tech role. It gives us what we need to manage DNS and domain settings, and it keeps us out of your billing, payment details, and ownership information.
How to add us
This only takes a few minutes.
- Log in to your Network Solutions account at networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of your dashboard.
- Select Accounts & Users. If you only have one account with Network Solutions, you'll see Users & Roles instead, under My Profile.
- If you see a list of accounts, click Manage next to the one that holds your domain. If you only have one account, skip this step.
- Under User Roles & Permissions, click + Add User.
- Enter Neon Moth as the name and ops@neonmoth.com as the email.
- Select Tech as the role, then click Invite.
That's everything on your end. Network Solutions will email us an invitation, we'll accept it, and we'll let you know once our access is active.
Network Solutions' own instructions, with screenshots, are available in their help article: How Do I Add and Edit Account Contacts?
Your account stays safe
You never share your password. We get our own separate login, so your credentials stay yours and nothing about how you sign in changes.
Your billing and ownership stay private. The Tech role can't view or change your payment information, can't purchase new products, and can't change who owns your domain.
You can see and remove our access at any time. We'll appear by name in your account's user list, and you can remove us in a few clicks. We only use this access for work on your website, domain, and email.
How to remove our access
- Log in and go to Accounts & Users (or Users & Roles) as described above.
- If you have multiple accounts, click Manage next to the account you want to change.
- Under User Roles & Permissions, click Edit next to our name.
- Click the Delete icon in the top right corner of the pop-up, then confirm by clicking Delete.
Removing our access won't affect your website, domain, or email. Any settings we've already put in place stay exactly as they are.
