Sharing GoDaddy Access
Give Neon Moth limited, revocable access to manage your domain's DNS settings through GoDaddy, without ever sharing your password.
Why we ask for this
Your domain's DNS settings control where your website lives, how your email gets delivered, and how services like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 confirm that you own your domain. When we launch a site, move it to new hosting, set up email, or fix a delivery problem, those settings usually need to change.
GoDaddy lets you add us as a delegate on your account. We sign in with our own GoDaddy login, so we can make DNS changes when they're needed without scheduling a call, waiting on two-factor codes, or asking for your password. You stay in full control of your account, and you can see exactly who has access to it.
Access levels
GoDaddy offers four access levels for delegates:
| Access level | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Products, Domains, & Purchase | Everything in Products & Domains, plus making purchases with your stored payment method |
| Products & Domains | Managing your domains and DNS, opening the control panels for your other GoDaddy products (like hosting or email), and canceling new products |
| Domains Only | Managing domain settings such as contact info, nameservers, and forwarding |
| Accounts Connection Only | Staying connected to your account for future work, with no access to products or domains |
We recommend Products & Domains. It's the level GoDaddy requires for managing DNS records, and it doesn't allow purchases. It also lets us into the control panels for other GoDaddy products on your account, like hosting or email, which is often helpful when we're moving a site or troubleshooting email.
No matter which level you choose, GoDaddy never allows a delegate to manage or add payment methods, view or change your password or Support PIN, view your order history, or invite anyone else to your account.
How to add us
This only takes a few minutes.
- Go to your GoDaddy Delegate Access page. You may be asked to sign in.
- In the People who can access my account section, select Invite to Access.
- Enter Neon Moth as the name and ops@neonmoth.com as the email.
- Select Products & Domains as the access level.
- Select Invite.
That's everything on your end. GoDaddy will email us an invitation, and they'll notify you once we've accepted it. Invitations expire if they aren't accepted within about two days, so if we let you know one has lapsed, just send it again.
GoDaddy's own instructions, including a short video, are available in their help article: Invite a delegate to access my GoDaddy account
Your account stays safe
You never share your password. We sign in with our own GoDaddy account, so your credentials stay yours and nothing about how you sign in changes.
Your billing stays private. With Products & Domains access, we can't make purchases, see or change your payment methods, or view your order history.
You can see and remove our access at any time. We'll appear by name on your Delegate Access page, and you can remove us in a few clicks. We only use this access for work on your website, domain, and email.
For more detail on what each level allows, see GoDaddy's article on delegate access levels.
How to remove our access
- Go to your GoDaddy Delegate Access page.
- In the People who can access my account section, select Edit next to our name.
- Select Delete, which appears under the Save button.
Removing our access won't affect your website, domain, or email. Any settings we've already put in place stay exactly as they are.
